The Way We Deal with Stress

“Par, bagsak na ata ako.”
“Ibang iba talaga ang senior high sa junior high.”
“Ang dami naming gagawin.”
“’Uy, paturo! Hindi ko na-gets eh.”
These are some of the lines that we often hear from senior high school students. Aside from a stressful day from school, we go home exhausted and do our homework and projects until dawn. Having an 8-hour sleep in a weekend is very, very rare. Most students spend time on social media—usually on twitter—ranting about the pile of school works because of the stress that it gives us, but how are we really supposed to deal with stress?
One of the essential characteristics that a student must possess is to be able to manage time wisely and productively. By doing this, not only would we be able to finish our tasks properly, but time management also gives us a lead to what we are going to do next and keeps the flow of our tasks in order.
In some cases, we think positive to help us be motivated in doing our homework. Though some may disagree, thinking positive thoughts could help some people be more productive.
When it comes with the ways of coping with stress, every student has a different way: some eat food, others listen to music, and some sleep. However, we must also know that not every way is good for our health. We must be careful when it comes to dealing with stress since some could cause health problems.
We know that the school should not be treated as our world—we do not only focus on getting high grades. We should always remember to have fun as we discover more about different things. Above all else, we must enhance our discipline and strengthen our relationships with others—be it as a friend, classmate, child, or student—and of course, with God.
